Our Mind and Body Kaimahi use their own personal lived experience of mental distress and/or addiction challenges and recovery to nurture hope and personal power, inspiring others to move forward with their lives.

**He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role**

You will join a team of 5 and will be providing peer support and advocacy for people one to one or in a group setting in the Christchurch area.

This role is varied and unique, an average day would be you visiting peers in the hospital or in the community supporting them to identify their strengths through personal, social, and community connections.

This role requires someone who has made sense of their own personal lived experience of mental distress and recovery and can use this experience to enhance their work and inspire others.

You will be supporting people to move forward with their recovery within a supportive, compassionate, relaxed, peer-led service.

This is a permanent full-time role Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend work may be required from time to time.

**He kōrero mōu | About You**

We are looking for an awesome, well-rounded Peer Support Worker to complete our team.

We are looking for people who have personal lived experience and want to use their recovery journey to help support and inspire others.

We celebrate creativity and diversity; we want you to think outside the box and use your creative flare.

If you bring along the following, we would love to hear from you:

- New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (Peer Support) Level 4 or the commitment to work towards one
- Intentional Peer Support training (desirable)
- Proven ability to work effectively with peers from diverse cultures and backgrounds, especially Māori and Pasifika communities and their whānau
- Personal experience of challenges with mental distress or addiction and recovery and can demonstrate strong leadership in their journey of taking control of their well-being and the development of insights and personal awareness
- Intermediate Computer skills
- Experience in the delivery of group facilitation
- A full NZ Drivers Licence and working rights in New Zealand
