**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**

We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a Commercial Underwriter to join our Commercial & Personal Distribution team (Northern region).

The objective of this position is to provide technical underwriting expertise to enhance our Broker portfolio underwriting, manage renewal retention, and provide commercially viable, profitable underwriting solutions by establishing and maintaining efficient end-to-end processes.

These processes should align with operations, ensure compliance, and contribute to profitable business performance within the underwriting discipline.

Supporting the team and our brokers, you’ll actively share knowledge to develop collective capability of the team and help drive profit and growth targets.

Work closely with Business Development Managers to strategically build and manage relationship with key brokers.

This role is based in **Auckland** and offers **hybrid** working conditions that support a mix of working from home and office.

**Please note**: To work from home, you’ll need high speed internet connection and a private home office set up.

**ABOUT YOU**

To be successful in the role, you will need:

- Proven ability to work within a team and individually to achieve shared outcomes.
- Adaptable approach working with people from diverse backgrounds, to achieve desired business outcomes.
- Experience in building and fostering strong relationships within the insurance broker market.
- The ability to multi-task; manage high volumes and competing priorities.
- Strong mentoring and coaching capabilities.
