Join a leading paint manufacturer, as a Chemical Engineer with a unique opportunity to grow into a Health and Safety Manager role. Our client is committed to fostering your professional development, offering extensive training and support under the guidance of experienced mentors. This position is ideal for a dynamic individual with 3-5 years of experience, a passion for health and safety, and a background in chemical engineering. As a pivotal member of the team, you will have the chance to spend significant time on the factory floor, collaborating with operators to promote best practices and ensure a safe working environment.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with site operators to promote and enforce best practices in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
- Lead the implementation of corporate EHS compliance requirements and mentor site's EHS Management System Element Owners.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and identify potential non-compliance issues, taking proactive measures to address them.
- Develop and manage risk assessment programs to meet legislative requirements and drive continuous improvement in safety.
- Manage incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement preventative measures to enhance workplace safety.
**Experience Required**:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with exposure to chemical processes and health and safety practices.
- A keen interest in relevant EH&S regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, regulatory agencies, and frontline staff.
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives and manage risk effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
