**About the role**
As a Saw Doctor your role is a part of the Lumber team, based at out Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier. Your role is critical to the division, ensuring optimum machine performance and high-quality finished product. Through your duties you will guarantee reliability and availability of saws in our sawmill. You are responsible for ensuring that all saws and knives are sharpened, repaired, and finished to a high quality. You will also participate in performing preventative maintenance tasks to minimise saw failures and unplanned saw changes. Along with your daily duties there is the opportunity for you to work on continuous improvement opportunities to maximise saw utilisation. You will be apart of one of our three Saw Doctor teams but also work alongside mechanical and electrical trades to problem solve machine centre sawing issues.
This is a shift position, working 4 x 10.5-hour shifts per week, days and nights (including some Saturdays) over a 3-week rotating roster.

**About you**
You have a NZQA Level 4 Trade Certificate in Saw doctoring or equivalent experience.
You also have the following skills:

- a background in a trade environment
