The Opportunity | Te kōwhiringa

We are proud to be supporting the Waikato region with Surfacing and Paving work on a range of projects maintaining and extending roads, bridges and pathways across the network. We require a reliable and motivated Paving Supervisor to help us lead the delivery of these assignments & our crew based from our Te Rapa, Hamilton depot.

Be responsible for the management and supervision of crew carrying out Paving Works. You’ll be involved in the planning, organising, directing and controlling of activities and operations. Overall you’ll ensure optimisation of resource use, track and drive target and contract delivery to meet high standards, keeping our customers (and Management) happy.

Important Skills | Nga pūkenga matua
With a steady track record of supervising paving teams laying a range of bituminous materials on roads and surfaces, you will hold:

- Knowledge of the laying and compaction of bituminous materials;
- Knowledge of paving plant operation;
- Knowledge of asphalt mix designs;
- The ability to undertake site measurement and accurately order materials with mínimal wastage;
- Clear demonstration of leadership behaviours that empower others;
- A proven track record in developing a culture that supports zero harm management, encouraging and rewarding excellence;
- The ability to deal with unexpected events/make decisions and provide direction to work teams;
- Provide solutions to unexpected events promote a “continual improvement” philosophy;
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
