**About the role**

The primary purpose of the role is to strengthen connections between local employers and schools to achieve greater rangatahi engagement in vocational education and employment, to create sustainable careers to support regional economic prosperity.

The service aims to increase levels of youth uptake in vocational education and employment, and decrease the numbers of youth Not in Education Employment or Training (NEET).

**Your skills and experience**

You will have:

- Bachelor of Education, Youth Development, Community Service, Career Development or similar
- Ideally, membership of a professional organisation in a relevant field, such as Career Development Association of NZ (CDANZ) or TESOLANZ
- Proven experience relevant to planning and co-ordinating transitional services to diverse rangatahi client groups in vocational services, employment brokerage or education
- Excellent experience working with Māori or Pasifika and people from diverse backgrounds
- Experience coordinating and facilitating events and group facilitation
- Exceptional experience at establishing and maintaining strong and meaningful relationships with all stakeholders

A full NZ Driver’s License (Class 1) is essential.

This position is classed as a Core Worker and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of Police Vetting, under the Children’s Act 2014.
