**Job Description**:
To assist with commercial inspections, verifying and surveying in the Auckland region (and potentially other areas of New Zealand where the Agricultural Services Sector operates), always ensuring that all tasks undertaken are performed in a truly professional manner so that the integrity of SGS is not compromised in any way.

- Ability to work additional hours as and when required and able to participate in after-hours and weekend roster duties as required (November-June)
- Actively participates in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management
- Be able to complete, the necessary training and experience to obtain SGS approval and MPI recognition as an Evaluator, Auditor, Verifier and Inspector for IVA Systems
- Be able to complete, the necessary training and experience to obtain Lead
Auditor / Assessor qualifications and recognition to undertake GlobalGAP, NZGAP, BRC and/or TESCO audits/assessments.
**Qualifications**:
- Hold a relevant Tertiary Qualification (e.g. B.Ag., DipHort., Certificate Hort.)
- Working experience in the primary sector (farming, forestry, horticulture, seeds) or a degree in horticulture/environment or a related discipline (advantageous)
- General knowledge of horticulture/export industry and experience in a regulatory compliance and/or food safety and quality systems (advantageous).
- Ability to read, understand and put into practice all quality assurance procedures and/or technical standards necessary to complete assigned tasks in the required time and manner
- Demonstrated excellence in English communication, both verbal and written
- Competent numeracy and literacy skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Proficient report writing and computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as simple database management
- Current and unrestricted New Zealand driver’s license
Additional Information
We are a compact team focused on ensuring phytosanitary security compliance for exporting most fruits and vegetables abroad, in accordance with MPI IVA and ICPR standards, throughout different stages from the field to the phytosanitary certificate verification.
