**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
Puketāpapa is home to a very diverse community and the team at Mt Albert Library pride themselves on creating a wonderful customer experience. A fantastic opportunity has become available to join the Albert-Eden/Puketāpapa Local Board libraries as a Senior Libraries and Council Services Assistant, based at **Mt Albert Library**.

The role will focus on the needs of our diverse communities to develop programmes and services, which will enable our migrant and other marginalised communities to thrive. You will have a passion about making a difference in the library and have a strong, people-focused and empathy-driven work ethic.

This is a permanent **38-hour** position and the current schedule is Sunday - Thursday, including late nights. The role requires flexibility to work across the Albert-Eden/Puketāpapa Local Board.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an ability to:

- Build and maintain relationships with local migrant, diverse and marginalised communities
- Support diverse community needs and engage under-served parts of the local communities to increase participation and use of libraries
- Develop and deliver programmes and events in response to our diverse community needs and identify service gaps and improvement opportunities
- Work collaboratively with teams in the Albert-Eden/Puketāpapa Local Board, sharing skills, knowledge and expertise
- Provide exceptional customer service, including supporting customers to use a wide range of library and non-library resources, navigating literacy and social vulnerability issues
- Keep up to date with current technology to support customers with access to resources in all formats
