Position Overview:
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Internal Auditor to strengthen our financial and operational processes. This role involves assessing internal controls, ensuring compliance, and mitigating risks related to our construction operations.

Location: Rotorua, New Zealand

Employment Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary Range: $88,000 - $98,000 per year

Key Responsibilities:

- Schedule, organize, and participate in meetings with directors and shareholders to address financial and compliance matters.
- Provide guidance to directors and shareholders on adhering to legislation, corporate practices, and industry standards.
- Oversee and manage treasury functions, including risk management strategies and financial policy development.
- Identify and assess financial risks in operations and provide actionable insights to management.
- Analyze financial data to evaluate the company’s financial health, cost structures, and operational efficiency.
- Implement and maintain budgetary controls and advanced accounting systems to streamline operations.
- Conduct comprehensive audits and investigations, preparing detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess and enhance the effectiveness of operational processes and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Monitor internal control systems to ensure regulatory compliance and company standards are met.
- Develop and adapt audit plans and methodologies in line with changes in operations and regulations.
- Maintain and update the audit calendar to reflect operational or regulatory changes.
- Proactively identify and address business and financial risks, supporting process improvements.
- Collaborate with accountants to ensure precise financial reporting and adherence to accounting standards.

Skills and Experience Required:

- Master’s Degree in Accounting.
- At least five years of accounting experience.
- Knowledge of internal auditing practices is highly beneficial.
- Strong commitment to health and safety.
- Proven ability to adhere to work standards and contribute to process improvements.
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (verbal and written).
