The Top Energy Group operates throughout the Far North delivering geothermal electricity generation and electricity network operations. Our purpose is providing affordable and sustainable energy for Far North consumers, which we are achieving by transforming the Top Energy Group into a technology-enabled energy company that generates and facilitates two-way energy flow between renewable energy generators and consumers.

We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to report to the Network Planning Manager, based at the Kerikeri Office.

Key areas of focus will be:

To assist with the engineering of Top Energy Network developments, ensuring effective and safe asset operation, and appropriate network optimisation. Responsibilities include:

Contribute to the preparation of the Network Development Plan

Assist with analysis of network security, reliability and capacity and propose network improvements

Assist in the planning and architecture design of the network

Carry out network load flow and fault analyses to enable operational constraints to be determined, and for the development of protection scheme architecture and protection settings

Prepare design concepts and options and propose optimal solutions for detailed design

Carry out the necessary investigations, surveys and analyses preparatory to project design and implementation, including network modelling for load flow and fault studies

Provide the data necessary for the preparation of cost benefit studies, budget projections, reports, business cases and other documents related to project planning

Assist with the preparation of preliminary and detailed designs

To succeed in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, and be proficient in Microsoft office suite. Preference with be given to applicants who have had some experience in the electrical industry and have used DigSilent power system analysis software or equivalent.
