About the Role We are seeking a Psychiatrist with experience in Addictions and OST to join our passionate team dedicated to putting people first, integrating Te Ao Maori into everyday practice, leading with kindness and achieving excellence.
This flexible role is based with the Lakes Opioid Treatment Service and includes General Adult Psychiatry with a focus on addictions.
Overtime you may have opportunities to rotate into inpatient or other community positions.
While primarily based in Rotorua, the role also includes clinic days at our satellite office in Taupo.
A key focus of this position is building strong relationships and working collaboratively with our addiction partners, including Manaaki Ora in Rotorua and arc Counselling Services in the Southern Lakes region.

Minimum Requirements A broad range of general psychiatric skills, with specific experience in Addictions Hold or be eligible for Vocational Registration with Medical Council of NZEnjoy teaching – Rotorua is a teaching hospital with 4th, 5th and 6th year medical students as well as registrars training for fellowship with the RANZCPMembership with NAOTP or equivalent preferred Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
Salary range$185,380 to $267,980 pro-rated to hours worked plus Senior Medical Officer allowances according to the ASMS agreement.
