About the Role We are seeking experienced and reliable Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently and collaboratively in a busy kitchen environment while ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. Key Responsibilities The successful applicant will be responsible for: Checking and assessing food items to ensure freshness, quality, and proper storage. Adjusting and maintaining cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and fryers to required temperatures. Preparing and cooking a range of dishes served at our restaurants. Seasoning and monitoring food during the cooking process to maintain consistency and taste. Portioning prepared dishes, plating meals attractively, adding sauces, gravies, and garnishes as per restaurant standards. Storing ingredients and prepared foods in appropriate temperature-controlled environments. Preparing meals for customers with specific dietary requirements when required. Assisting with menu planning and estimating daily or weekly food supply needs. Supporting and training junior kitchen staff and apprentices when needed. Skills & Experience Required Applicants must meet one of the following: Hold an NZ Register Level 4 qualification(Equivalent) in cookery or a relevant field; OR Have a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
