We are seeking exceptional candidates who are passionate about the exciting world of digital technologies, including the Internet of Things, Big Data, Advanced Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning. You will be experienced in the use of both technical and functional skills to deliver digital projects in manufacturing environments. This role will be primarily responsible for executing digital projects and engineering tasks such as functional and design specifications, technical application development, quality assurance, commissioning, and support. You will also be capable of supporting sales on opportunities with pricing and technical consulting tasks. Diverse assignments and travel can be expected. Your Responsibilities Lead client workshops throughout all project phases, including requirements gathering, design, and training. Provide technical leadership for complex MES/MIS solutions. Apply systems engineering expertise to deliver information solutions in manufacturing environments. Translate user and functional requirements into technical specifications, and oversee development, testing, installation, and support. Design and configure manufacturing information systems to meet client needs. Utilise established development and project execution methodologies. Oversee technical team quality and contribute to agile software engineering tasks. Support project planning by defining technical delivery scope, assisting with scope control, and estimating technical tasks to ensure system quality. Support sales teams in preparing proposals, statements of work (SOW), and project plans. The Essentials - You Will Have Experience in process/manufacturing industries and delivering digital/data projects across the full project lifecycle. Strong skills in requirements gathering, client engagement, and communication. Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Automation, Electrical, or related discipline. 5–10 years experience in solutions development or delivery, ideally in Food & Beverage, Process, or Pharmaceutical sectors. Technical expertise in SDLC (Agile/Waterfall), Java, Java Script, SQL, Dev Ops tools (SVN, GIT, JUnit, JIRA, Jenkins, Maven), RDBMS, integration tools (ERP, Middleware, REST), IT platforms (VMWare), JEE servers (JBoss), and code reviews Proficiency in English (spoken and written) Experience with MES, MOM, IIo T, and manufacturing information/reporting systems; ERP and process control system integration. Strong problem‑solving skills and knowledge of automation industry standards. Willingness to travel up to 25% and work at customer sites. Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and continuous improvement mindset. The Preferred - You Might Also Have Certification in solution architecture methodology. Familiarity with PLC programming and Live Data integrations such as MQTT and OPC. Familiarity with Factory Talk Production Centre, PTC Thing Worx, CPG Suite, Pharma Suite, OEE, and Historian applications. Experience designing and configuring mining operations management solutions (e.g. delay accounting, production KPIs, inventory modelling, operator logs, quality). Interest in technology trends: Cloud, AI, Analytics, Azure, Docker. Domain expertise in Dairy, Food, Beverage, Brewing, CPG, Process Industry, Life Sciences, and Mining. Knowledge of V Model, GAMP5, ERP/PCS integration patterns, ISA95, and S88 batching models. Ability to articulate the benefits of technical solutions and provide technical leadership on complex MES/MIS projects.
