Work Details

We have 2 permanent positions available in Auckland
You may be required to in the Waikato and Bay or Plenty regions subject to consultation and mutual agreement. 
Work Monday to Friday and Saturdays as required.
Guaranteed 35 hours per week
Competitive remuneration: $29.66 - $38.00 per hour

Role Description
Our team are currently looking for Qualified Excavator Operators to join us on our journey.
We're looking for leading operators who can deliver quality work while promoting a strong Health and Safety culture.
You will be operating across our various client sites and gain exposure to works including: drainage subdivisions three waters pipelines and earthworks.

Responsibilities

Operating 5 - 30 tonne machines that might include Excavators Hi-Rail Excavators Hydremas and Rollers
Facilitating works such as trenching and deep drainage works
Preparing and positioning plant for operation
Selecting fitting and removing machine attachments such as buckets winches loading scoops shovel blades and rock breaking hammers
Operating controls to excavate break drill level compact gouge out move load and spread earth rock rubble soil and other materials
Monitoring operation of plant and adjusting controls to regulate pressure speed and flow of operation and ensuring safety of other workers
Raising lowering and manipulating attachments using manual and hydraulic controls
Servicing lubricating cleaning and refuelling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
Working from drawings markers and verbal instructions
Assisting with planning of  safely controls for works near underground and overhead services and live traffic
Help Quality assurance tests when required
Report any quality related issues to foreman immediately
Providing feedback and guidance on safety procedure and use of spotters

Required Attributes

3+ years relevant experience operating a variety of machine types and sizes
Full Class 1 with Wheels Tracks and Rollers endorsements / licences or international equivalent with ability to convert
Clear understanding and familiarity with construction Health and Safety procedures
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures and equipment
Ability to read drawings plans and Inspection Test Plans
Willing to get stuck in with a great team
Able to communicate effectively
Good verbal and written communication
