Independent Pipeline Services (IPSL) is a high-growth pipeline testing & leak detection company based in Rolleston, working throughout New Zealand, predominately the South Island.

The Opportunity The Role We’re on the hunt for a Water Installer with Leading Hand or Foreman experience who is passionate about quality, safety, and professional growth.
This role will see you leading hands-on pipeline work and supervising field operations, ensuring everything from setup to testing and chlorination runs smoothly.
But more than just technical skills, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude—a proactive leader eager to learn, grow, and take on new challenges as part of a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities Lead by Example: Guide and support a small team on water pipeline installations, testing, and chlorination work.
Service Excellence: Deliver IPSL’s full range of services, from leak detection to hydrostatic pressure testing, adhering to the highest quality standards.
Technical Oversight: Work with engineers, clients, and field staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to specification.
Health and Safety Champion: Promote and practice high safety standards, ensuring all activities are compliant and safe.
About You We’re looking for someone skilled yet grounded, with a mix of technical know-how and the motivation to grow with us.
You may not tick every box, but if you have a solid foundation in water installation and a drive to succeed, we want to hear from you.
Some of our best team members joined us unsure of their capabilities and have flourished with our support.
Skills and Experience: Experience in water pipeline installation, ideally in a supervisory or Leading Hand role.
Familiarity with infrastructure and water reticulation drawings.
Level 3 National Certificate in Water Reticulation (or equivalent) is preferred.
Hands-on experience with small and large diameter piping systems, trenching, and safe use of machinery and tools.
Current driver’s licence and a strong understanding of health and safety practices.
