Whangarei, Northland 0110, New Zealand • Full-time Description About the Role The main purpose of this role would be to aid the project managers and engineers with a variety of design tasks on projects.
Objectives: Supporting project teams with analysis, design, and reporting tasks.
Developing and maintaining competencies consistent with the practice of a professional engineer.
Ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate legislation, corporate requirements, and systems.
Key responsibilities include: Assist the team with technical reporting.
Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and actively participating in interdisciplinary workshops as required.
Liaison with Consultants and Contractors as required by projects.
Assisting with marketing and promotion of BG&E.
Preparation of construction documentation and specifications.
Construction support including response to RFIs and attending meetings.
Assist with writing reports.
Directly contacting clients.
Visiting sites for inspections.
Support the Associate - Structures in the day-to-day activities.
Undertaking site visits, calculations, and drawings.
Opportunities to work on projects across NZ and overseas.
About You To succeed in this position, you'll bring experience such as: Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil and/or Structural Engineering - at least BE (hons) from NZ university.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of tools is essential; experience using SPACEGAS or similar modelling tools is beneficial.
A strong desire to learn and solve problems in a team context.
The ability to multi-task and self-prioritize workload.
High attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
Work together as a big team - in this role you will be part of a large dynamic team and network of engineers to learn and grow.
Driver's license necessary.
