Nursing Director - Senior Clinical Management Role The Nursing Director is expected to demonstrate advanced nursing knowledge ideally in a palliative care practice and business acumen in managing staff resources and supplies to achieve clinical best practice and cost-efficient services.
Responsibilities include: Developing innovative approaches to problem solving and utilizing the skills of team members to coordinate and resolve problems, demonstrating understanding of when to escalate issues to the CEO.
Communicating effectively with all members of the nursing team and broader hospice team both verbally and in written form.
Listening to colleagues and respecting their contributions.
Exhibiting self-awareness and understanding the importance of sector self-care.
Person Specifications Registered Nurse with Nursing Council NZ and hold a current APC.
Understanding of the local Southland and Queenstown populations is desirable.
At least 5 years of management and leadership experience, preferably in palliative care.
Ideally holds postgraduate nursing qualifications.
Expert PDRP level 4 or working towards achieving this.
Advanced learning and contemporary knowledge in either palliative care, aged residential care, hospital care, or GP practice management experience.
Exhibiting a personal style of management that reflects strong awareness of personal strengths and limitations, sensitive to individual and cultural diversity.
Well-developed advocacy skills in respect of patients, family, whānau members, and staff.
Able to ethically delegate to other staff and colleagues.
Capable of working autonomously and collaboratively within the Senior Management team and wider organization.
Excellent change management skills and proven ability to lead others through change.
Prepared to work in the spirit of Hospice philosophy.
Living the hospice values.
A healthy sense of humour and fun.
