We collaborate with local and international artists, and community partners to make historically informed music part of today’s cultural landscape. About the Role We’re looking for a highly organised, creative, and motivated General Manager to lead the production, operational, marketing, and fundraising activities of NZ Barok. This part‑time leadership role is ideal for someone passionate about the arts who thrives on making things happen. Working closely with the Artistic Director and NZ Barok Board, you’ll help shape and deliver the orchestra’s 2026 concert season and support its continued growth and sustainability. Key Responsibilities Concert Production & Leadership Complete all aspects of concert production from planning to performance. Provide creative and logistical support to the Artistic Director. Manage rehearsal and concert scheduling, venues, Front of House team, contractors, and risk management. Prepare activity budgets and monitor spending against Board‑approved budgets in consultation with the Treasurer. Marketing & Promotion Lead digital marketing campaigns (social media, SEO, email, website) and meet box‑office revenue growth targets. Coordinate design and content creation for promotional materials. Analyse campaign data and provide performance reports to the Board. Fundraising & Sponsorship Identify and secure funding and sponsorship opportunities. Prepare grant applications, proposals, and post‑project reports. Maintain a funding calendar and relationships with sponsors and funding bodies. Administration Manage communications via NZ Barok’s email and online systems. Oversee ticketing, complimentary lists, donation receipting, and general correspondence. Maintain project plans and records in Notion and One Drive. About You You’re an experienced arts professional who is structured, dependable, and action oriented. You'll bring Demonstrated experience in concert or event production and arts management. Strong organisational, and project management skills. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, SEO/SEM, Mailchimp, and social media platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in fundraising and sponsorship management within the arts sector. Confident using Microsoft Office, Notion, Xero, and online ticketing platforms (e.g., i TICKET). Attributes Creative, proactive, and self‑directed. Professional, organised, and detail focused. Collaborative and approachable, with strong relationship management skills.
