General Practitioner Special Interest Oncology – Te Puriri O Te Ora, Cancer and Blood Service Full or Part Time options available Are you a Primary Care practitioner with an interest in oncology? We are seeking to expand the number of GP positions within our acute oncology department.

Te whiwhinga mahi| The Opportunity Te Pūriri o Te Ora Regional Cancer and Blood Service, based at Auckland City Hospital, is the leading provider of cancer care in the Auckland region, serving a large and varied population of around 1.7 million people.
The Northern Regional Cancer Service is engaged in collaboration with the University of Auckland within the Academic Health Alliance.
You will ideally have experience in contributing to excellence in research initiatives, and/or interest in an academic position.
You will be part of the Medical Oncology department within the Northern Regional Cancer and Blood Service, with very close links with radiation oncology, haematology, and palliative care services on the same site.
The unit runs a tumour stream model of care with 24 full-time equivalent medical oncologists, advanced trainee registrars, and rotating medical registrars.
We will warmly welcome your specialist skills to complement our specialist oncology skills.
You would also join a close-knit group of Health Professionals.
The role is based within the Acute Oncology Day Stay unit.
This is a Mon – Fri service operating during business hours to provide care for patients currently undergoing chemotherapy who have suspected complications of treatment.
Activities include ordering, conducting, and interpreting a wide range of diagnostic and laboratory tests.
You will be working alongside registrars and have access to a medical oncologist on a day-to-day basis.
We are also working with university colleagues to identify potential development opportunities.
Minimum Requirements: You will be vocationally registered as a GP or medical officer with the Medical Council of NZ with a current annual practising certificate.
