Working closely with the Senior Legal Counsel and Head of Legal, you will provide legal advice across all functions within the organisation, supporting various teams from procurement to exploration.
This opportunity will enable you to provide substantive advice across the full range of the energy business with exposure to issues directly affecting the strategic direction of the company.
You will: Prepare and assist negotiation of commercial arrangements Assist procurement to negotiate a varied range of contracts that support projects, operations activities both onshore and offshore as well as IT and other standard business contracts Support business development activities including acquisitions and divestments Undertake legal research and provide legal advice regarding compliance when required Advise internal teams regarding environmental consenting and other statutory requirements applicable to various projects Resolve disputes with contractors, joint venture partners and others In addition to interesting work, you will also get: Work-life balance: Flexible work hours are on offer including hybrid working.

You'll receive an attractive package with comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement savings, life and income protection insurance.5-10 years of post-qualification experience A background in corporate/commercial law Experience dealing with standard procurement templates, basic contracts and reviewing terms and conditions Ability to provide valuable legal research, opinions, contractual reviews and document preparation Your experience will extend beyond just theoretical knowledge; it will encompass practical application honed over your career to date Ability to work independently Regulatory, governance and/or compliance experience is a bonus but not essential An understanding of environmental consenting will be considered a bonus too but if you don't have that experience, the team are happy to teach it Australia or New Zealand qualified OMV has exclusively partnered with Robert Walters and our legal team is managing the recruitment of this position.
