Ob Description 2 x Roles Available 1 FTE, 40 hours per week .5 FTE, 20 hours per week Salary Range $60k - $70k Te Whiwhinga mahi – The opportunity In partnership , Purapura Whetū Trust, Odyssey House and Stepping Stones Trust are launching a new employment service Kia Ahumahi, focussed Community Job Coaching. The service is funded by the Ministry of Social Development, to support 18-24 year olds in receipt of a benefit to gain employment with kaimahi prioritising respect, momentum and process. The Employment Team works alongside young adults / rangatahi pakeke who are currently experiencing difficulties to gain employment , walk alongside them and their employers to ensure a sustained outcome of employment. Nga kawenga matua o te mahi – Key responsibilities of the role Delivering workshops to Rangatahi currently receiving a Work and Income benefit to support work readiness Motivating, supporting and leading Rangatahi through all job seeking processes Building and maintaining relationships with employers and community organisations to achieve sustainable employment connections Matching skills and strengths of Rangatahi with the needs of employers and industry Post placement, maintaining a relationship with the employer and supporting Rangatahi to remain engaged to sustain employment and overall Hauora Ngā pūmānawatanga ōu – What you will bring Have a passion and strong past experience in working in partnership with Rangatahi to support growth , engagement and achievement of positive goals Can evidence an understanding of Rangatahi engagement and Youth work practice approaches Have a strong Te Ao Maori practice approach in engagement with Rangatahi Maori and Pacifica Have a string understanding of the challenges and barriers Rangatahi face in emgagement with employment , both practical and in their life journeys Have past experience and existing relationships with employers/training providers Have evidenced strengths in building and maintaining relationships Are strong communicators and motivators in group work and individual Rangatahi Maori Have a strong team focus and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team Be organised to maintain a busy schedule diary Have a full NZ driver licence Mō mātou – Our organisation Purapura Whetū Trust empowers people to reach their full potential through personal growth, positive mental health, and wellbeing.
