The Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Web team. At this Senior level, you will bring advanced technical knowledge and expertise in the below skill areas, and enjoy opportunities to coach and mentor other members of our team in these areas of speciality. You will be involved in the development, implementation, refinement, and commercialisation of software for RP’s various projects, ensuring that all software developed aligns with RP’s methodology/standards to ensure consistency of experience, and efficiency across various product lines. Best practice security protocols are applied and continually reviewed to ensure safety and security. Software Engineering or Computer Science degree, or similar qualification. 7 + years professional experience. Development and deployment workflows (CI, versioning, automated machine configuration/Dev Ops) Software testing practices (Unit, System and Integration testing) Node JS / Next JS Frameworks – React Relational Databases Docker / Docker compose Cloud infrastructure and services (eg: AWS, GCP, Cloudformation, Terraform, Packer) Confident to learn new languages and technologies Understanding of scripting languages like Python, Bash, Node JS Linux Development and Deployment Environment Experience Virtualisation tools (Docker, Virtual Box, Vagrant) Project Management techniques such as Agile / Scrum This is a permanent, full-time role, based at our brand-new, custom-built premises in Tauriko, Tauranga.
