Are you a driven Structural Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? I am working with a highly respected, Christchurch-based structural consultancy known for their technical excellence and supportive team culture. This is a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming engineer (3–5 years' experience) who is confident managing projects from design through to delivery and who thrives in solving complex structural challenges.

You'll be joining a close-knit and collaborative team of engineers who work across a diverse portfolio, including bespoke residential, commercial, industrial, and multi-storey developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver end-to-end structural design for a wide variety of building projects
  • Undertake structural analysis, calculations, and documentation
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, design briefs, and specifications
  • Conduct site visits, construction monitoring, and inspections
  • Review shop drawings and respond to contractor RFIs in a timely and effective manner
  • Collaborate closely with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Support junior engineers and graduates with guidance and mentorship - this is a true team environment
About You
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Hons) preferred
  • 3–5 years' experience in structural engineering within the New Zealand consulting environment
  • Experience working across a wide range of structures including industrial, commercial & high end residential
  • A desire to up skill and work towards CPEng status
  • Solid working knowledge of local codes and standards
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SpaceGass, or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A proactive attitude and a genuine passion for solving structural challenges
