As the Procurement and Contracts Lead you will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end procurement and contract management of varying levels of complexity.

As a procurement specialist within a team, you will be leading allocated sourcing projects, providing strategic guidance, driving best practice strategies including a focus on contract management and relationship development across the Council. You will have a deep understanding of sourcing and contract management.

As a procurement professional, you know that your ability to develop and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships assists you in being an effective specialist. You'll be working alongside the supplier market to understand trends and make sure you are delivering the best value for money for the organisation and the community.

We're looking for the right person to join us and we're excited to see what qualities you will bring that will complement our strong team. You'll be reporting to one of our Procurement Managers, procuring a variety of works and services and ensuring that plans and policies align with the Council's Procurement Policy and strategic objectives that relate to procurement.

To be successful in this role you'll be an expert in end-to-end procurement practices and will operate within a best practice framework, with experience in a broad range of sectors. You'll have contract management experience and you'll ideally have experience in digital and corporate procurement activities, experience in infrastructure is desirable but not essential. You'll have excellent written and oral communication skills in order to deliver concepts and strategies to stakeholders across the Council. Innovative, collaborative, strategic, and interpersonal skills will stand you in good stead for this role.

Hours of work - Permanent Fulltime
Location- This position is primarily based at 53 Hereford Street, Christchurch
Salary-The salary band for this position goes from $96,465 p.a. to $107,183 p.a. per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
