We are seeking a dynamic and strategic-minded individual to join our team as a Senior Advisor - Strategic Asset Management Planning. As stewards of community assets, we aim to manage them effectively for the benefit of current and future generations.
We are a small team of five that guides and directs the management of councils $16B of assets. Working closely with the service units, you will support good asset management practice lifting the overall maturity of asset management across council.

This key position plays a crucial role in supporting Asset Management improvement initiatives to lift the Asset Management maturity and capability across the Council. As a Senior Advisor, you will:
- Assist in the revision of Council's asset management system (policy, strategy, standard operating procedures, and frameworks such as asset criticality and condition), contributing to maturity assessments and related improvement programmes.
- Ensure Asset Management improvements align with Council priorities and legislative requirements, contributing towards improvement in AM Maturity.
- Support the development of Asset Management Plans, Infrastructure Strategy, Long Term and Annual Plans.
- Engage with business units across Council and be dedicated to championing asset management excellence.
Our ideal applicant will have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in Asset management planning.
- At least five years' experience in a similar environment.
- A sound understanding of formal guidelines such as NAMS, IPWEA International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ideally, experience using asset management systems, including but not limited to SAP, GIS, RAMM, BIM, SCADA and Infonet.
- The ability to work both collaboratively and independently, with a focus on meeting timeframes and objectives.
- The ability to build rapport quickly and foster strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to establish visions and targets.

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent
Location- This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
Salary-The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
