Temporary Traffic Management Specialist

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

The Traffic Management Specialist role involves significant stakeholder liaison and a commitment to finding solutions that best support events and filming activity across the region. This will involve working to innovate and optimise the approach to temporary traffic management to improve outcomes for our customers.

You will be responsible for:

1. Processing applications to hold events and film in Auckland against relevant codes and standards.
2. Preparing reports to obtain the necessary approvals for temporary road closures and temporary parking restrictions.
3. Planning and preparing temporary public transport bus routes.
4. Providing technical subject matter expertise to a wide range of stakeholders to ensure the success of events.
5. Working closely and collaboratively with internal teams to ensure best outcomes for events and minimal disruption to the network.
6. Working with external stakeholders to continually improve TTM associated with events and filming across the ATOC network.

This role will require some work outside of standard office hours (including nights and weekends) to support major event delivery, audit deployment of traffic management plans, and fulfil a role within an Incident Management Team in response to emergencies.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

1. Site Traffic Management Specialist Categories A, B and C (or equivalent).
2. Full New Zealand driver's license.
3. Minimum 5 years of TTM (ideally event related) experience.
4. Expert knowledge of COPTTM and a sound understanding of NZGTTM.
5. Proven stakeholder engagement success.
6. Intermediate or expert proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8. Fantastic organisation skills - plans and prioritises, manages time exceptionally well.
9. Strong personal resilience - able to maintain good energy and positivity when working under pressure.
10. An understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government.
