Through integration and collaboration, we're building a health system underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care, and excellence.
About The RoleQueenstown Lakes District has a permanent, rapidly growing, population of around 30,000 and a regular influx of tourist population. You will work within a small multi-disciplinary team and be responsible for the psychiatric assessment and care of patients. This is the best place for work-life balance Working with us will mean taking on a leading role in maintaining and enhancing our Mental Health service.
Your responsibilities will include assessment and treatment while working collaboratively with the primary health sector consistent with our values. There is also a requirement to contribute to ongoing service improvement and workforce innovation. You will be able to join our regular meetings with our base hospitals through video conferencing. There is a requirement to contribute to the Southland after hours on-call roster, but the frequency of this can be negotiated. Part-time applicants and requests for flexibility would be considered. While all colleagues (including part-time ones) undertake on-call duties, we would look at negotiating a schedule that will accommodate work-life balance in Queenstown
About UsAre you looking for a chance to secure a balanced lifestyle? Queenstown needs no introduction; whatever your interest or preferred pastime you will find the opportunity to indulge it here. As we are located close to some of New Zealand's best national parks, vineyards, and ski fields, you will have the best of both worlds, not to mention work-life balance. We look forward to having you with our team
About YouAs a Consultant Psychiatrist with previous general adult experience in either an inpatient or community setting, you will have a personal commitment to maintaining high standards of practice and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a team. Your ability to provide clinical leadership and reliable medical input to the multi-disciplinary team is pivotal to the position. You will have a strong commitment to service user and family/whānau inclusion in service delivery and a focus on recovery. You will also have a sound understanding and commitment to biculturalism. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and providing training to students at all levels. Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent is essential, and you must be eligible for registration with the NZ Medical Council. A full driver's licence is essential for this role.
