We are looking for an exceptional General Manager to lead our team and spearhead business growth and project development both in New Zealand and internationally.

When needed, our experts travel both nationally and internationally to support projects.

As General Manager, you will lead a skilled and motivated team into an exciting new phase of growth. With projects spanning from kilowatts to gigawatts, you will oversee initiatives in solar, offshore and onshore wind, and BESS, both within New Zealand and globally.

This newly created position is integral to expanding our presence in Power & Renewables, Decarbonisation, and Environmental Sustainability. You will be passionate about renewable energy and energy equity and thrive in the fast-paced, ever-evolving energy sector. Your strategic mindset will allow you to identify and seize new business opportunities both locally and globally, while your leadership and execution capabilities will enable you to effectively manage and represent Elemental Group.

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, you will collaborate with a dedicated group of energy professionals who bring extensive industry expertise and hands-on experience in delivering impactful renewable energy projects. You will be based in our head office in New Plymouth, Taranaki. Known for its stunning landscapes and exceptional lifestyle, it is also the energy capital of Aotearoa, New Zealand and a hub of innovation and sustainability.

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to be responsible for:

1. Ensuring effective Operations Management across multiple projects.
2. Day to day management of our Consulting team (including hiring, workload management, leave requests, prioritisation of projects, conflicts on consultants' time).
3. Coordination of consulting projects through ProjectWorks or other similar systems.
4. Being the first point of contact for all project-related queries.
5. Implementing and maintaining budgets and resource allocation plans in collaboration with Project Managers.
6. Managing and reporting on utilisation of staff and ensuring that project teams are right-sized to deliver on contracts.
7. Maintaining project timelines to ensure delivery.
8. Coordinating RFP and EOI response submittals. Appointing or delegating consultant(s) to lead bid responses and track submission progress to ensure quality procedures are met and submissions are on time.
9. Overseeing the delivery of formal documentation such as tenders, technical reports, resumes, policies, procedures, and presentations.
10. Improving operational management systems, processes, and best practices.

Business Development:

1. Support Business Development and stakeholder management.
2. Develop and execute opportunities to support EGC clients with information systems and technology support.
3. Contribute bottom line income.
4. Explore opportunities for EGC business expansion in non-core areas, complementary to energy.
