We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated educator to join our team in our beautiful restored villa in Western Springs. Someone who shares our values of growth, courage, empowerment, and respect, as these underpin all the decisions we make. Our kaiako are committed to creating a young person's sanctuary that inspires wonder, creativity, imagination, and investigation.

Sunbeams is a family-owned and operated kindergarten, licensed for 30 children O2. The owner/manager is an experienced, qualified, and certificated early childhood teacher with a passion for providing excellence in education.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have a recognised early childhood education qualification and current practising certificate
  • Be an experienced teacher who values being part of a cohesive team and works collaboratively
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of Te Whāriki and its implementation in practice.
  • Be positive and have a proactive attitude to learning and growing their professional practice.
  • Demonstrate ability in curriculum planning, assessment, and evaluation
  • Share our commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and bicultural practice.

Note: This position is only open to applicants who are currently residing in New Zealand and have the legal right to live and work in NZ. We are not an accredited employer.
