Kaimai School is a thriving school nestled on top of the picturesque Kaimai Ranges, the entry to the Eastern Bay of Plenty. We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic teacher to join our dynamic team.

Our school's special character is our rural setting, 10 minutes away from Tauranga. We are a progressive, forward-thinking school. Our unique setting has allowed us to design our curriculum to suit the needs of our Kaimai Kids and the aspirations of our community. We have electives and environmental studies to engage our ākonga. Our kids spend time in our native areas, digging and building huts or catching air on the skatepark or enjoying a lunchtime swim in our school pool. Our values Belonging/Turangawaewae, Integrity/Pono, Gratitude/Whakawhetai, Resilience/Manawaroa are the essence of our school culture.

We have dedicated kaiako who strive to do the best for our tamariki each day. A supportive community BOT who want the best for our Kaimai Kids. Our class sizes are small, meaning we have excellent teacher to student ratios.

The successful applicant will have a commitment to continuous improvement, we provide rich professional learning opportunities; we are committed to implementation of the refreshed curriculum, through structured literacy, common practices throughout classes; strong formative assessment; and implementing our signature practices "The Kaimai Way".

Kaimai School focuses on best teaching practices. A commitment to continually upskilling and improving as a teacher is essential. Strengths in Formative Assessment, PB4L, Structured Literacy knowledge, and strong content knowledge in mathematics and literacy would be an advantage.
