About the RoleNeurology at Waikato Hospital has a great opportunity for someone who is motivated and dynamic and is looking to join a supportive and enthusiastic team. You will be part of a dedicated team of Neurologists, Registrars, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Allied Health, and Administrative Staff.
About the Team/ServiceWe provide both secondary and tertiary level inpatient, day-patient, outpatient, and neurophysiology services to both local and regional populations with close links to the regional Neurosurgery Unit based at Waikato Hospital. The appointee will be involved in teaching, continuing medical education, and quality improvement. There is an emphasis on ongoing development of services to meet the needs of our patients. A commitment to customer focus, service development, and teamwork are essential.
About HamiltonWaikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts. With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. About YouRequired skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:
- Advanced training in Neurology and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
The applicant must be a passionate team player and must be eligible for working toward vocational registration in New Zealand. Fellowship training in EMG/NCS or equivalent and clinical expertise in Botox treatment would be an advantage.
