Ko ake mahi - What you'll do

The role of Principal Advisor Government Services is responsible for supporting the Government Services Team to continuously improve its services and drive performance, which includes the management of Official Information Act requests, ministerial correspondence, Select Committee work, and parliamentary questions. You will also assist managers and provide support to the Ministry's Private Secretaries. This role is based in the Parliamentary Advice and Coordination Team but also works across the Government Services teams and faces out to the Ministry and stakeholders.

  • Expert knowledge of the machinery of government
  • Experience working to a Senior level with ministerial offices and senior leaders
  • Political nous and strong engagement skills
  • The ability to comfortably work at pace and meet deadlines

At Manatū Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance. We regulate the health sector and are the primary source of advice on health matters.

The Parliamentary Advice and Coordination team is responsible for supporting our Ministers and the Ministry with meeting accountability, scrutiny, and reporting requirements. We work in a fast-paced and reactive environment where communicating, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards are paramount.
