Our Merchandise team works with supplier partners and store teams on category ranging, buying, pricing and promotions so we can get the right products on the right shelves at the right time for our customers.

Te Tūranga – About the role

As a Senior Commercial Analyst you'll be an expert on the Category Review process and will be the first point of contact for any analyst queries. You will drive process improvement and will also be a mentor and coach to new and existing team members.

Working with Merchandise teams, you will:

1. Deliver financial analysis, reporting and support for supplier negotiations as part of Foodstuffs Customer Driven Category Range Reviews and other projects.
2. Support the wider Merchandise team with reporting or ad hoc analysis assisting with making commercial business decisions.
3. Continually challenge and improve key Merchandise business processes, policies and systems helping to reduce risk, improve performance, and create efficiencies.

He kōrero mōu - About you

To be successful in this role, you'll have an inquisitive mind with limitless curiosity. You'll also have strong process flow, system integration knowledge and be naturally tech savvy with strong excel skills and proven ability to build reports through Power BI. Experience with SAP would be useful for this role too.

You'll also have experience in:

1. Working with large data sets.
2. Communicating clearly and confidently, translating numbers to assist the business in making decisions.
3. Building robust relationships.
4. Financial analysis ideally within FMCG or Retail environment.
