About us
The Electricity Authority Te Mana Hiko is an independent Crown entity that regulates the electricity market. We are a kaitiaki of electricity, and our purpose is to enhance New Zealanders' lives, prosperity, and environment through electricity.
The electricity industry is at a pivotal moment, with the journey towards renewable energy sources and innovation reshaping how we operate. To meet these challenges and opportunities, we're evolving as an organisation - growing our capabilities, expanding our reach, and building a team ready to create a brighter, more sustainable future for Aotearoa.
About the role
The Office of the Chief Executive supports the Chief Executive (CE) in leading the Electricity Authority by providing strategic policy guidance, organisational advice, and operational coordination. It facilitates effective decision-making, stakeholder engagement, and the successful delivery of the Authority's responsibilities.
The Senior Analyst - Office of the Chief Executive will support the daily operations of the CE's office, serve as a trusted advisor, manage key internal and external relationships, and drive the Authority's strategic priorities. This role reports to the Executive Advisor to the CE.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- The ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Keen attention to detail and a delivery-focused attitude
- The ability to work efficiently, discreetly, and with integrity
- Strong relationship management skills
- Proven experience engaging directly with and advising Ministers, Chief Executives, or Senior Leaders
- Analytical acumen and critical thinking skills to approach challenges strategically
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities, able to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences
Why work for us?
Electricity plays a critical role in the quality of our lives and businesses. Our work is diverse, intellectually challenging and contributes to our communities, economy, and environment. We are a small but high-impact organisation where talented individuals can make a real difference. We foster an open, collaborative environment that encourages quality, innovation, ongoing learning, and knowledge sharing.
