Horizon Networks is recruiting for a High Voltage Electrician/ Cable Jointer to join our growing team in Whakatane. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Reporting to the Technical Services Supervisor, you will be responsible to:

• Provide field-based technical and Electrical services for Network & Third-Party clients including maintenance and projects.
• Provide specialist HV & LV jointing services for the installation, maintenance and repair of transmission and distribution cables.
• Installation works on Substations equipment, ground mount switchgear and Transformers.
• Undertake Electrical Distribution Faults & repairs for the network.
• Undertake stay away works as requested by the business from time to time.

To be successful, a candidate must have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

Qualifications

• Registered Electrician with 2 Years' experience.
• Distribution Line Mechanic Qualification desirable.
• HV Cable Jointer Qualification desirable.
• Current Manual NZ Drivers Licence.
• Current Class 2 Full Licence.
• Current Class 4 Full Licence desirable and expected once employed.
• Good understanding of network operating systems.
• Thorough knowledge of and ability to maintain transformers and switchgear rated from 400V to 33kV.
• Experience in jointing XLPE cables up to 33kV and polymeric and/or paper lead up to 11kV preferred.
• Live jointing of LV cables.
• Installation of LV pillars, distribution transformers, Ring Main Units and Switchgear.
