What We Are Looking For:

We seek Regulations & Standards Engineers with varying levels of expertise, specializing in solar product codes, standards, and certification. The ideal candidate is a technical expert who:

  1. Collaborates with Industry Stakeholders: Engages with industry stakeholders to stay well-informed about regulations and standards.
  2. Product Knowledge: Maintains an in-depth understanding of product features, capabilities, and specifications.
  3. Standards Development: Actively participates in working groups to develop new standards and communicates relevant updates to business teams.
  4. Research & Analysis: Reviews regulations and standards to create documentation that facilitate product compliance with local, national, and international regulations and standards.
  5. Technical Writing: Demonstrates strong technical writing skills through proficient documentation and information management.

What you will need to do it well:

  1. Maintain Knowledge: Stay updated on international regulations, with a detailed understanding of Grid Connection standards.
  2. Committee Participation: Engage in relevant national and international standards committees to capture evolving regulatory requirements.
  3. Lead Compliance Efforts: Promote early compliance by raising awareness of requirements from existing and developing standards.
  4. Develop Compliance Strategies: Formulate and recommend compliance strategies that align with the company's strategic product roadmap, including products, geographies, and timelines.
  5. Contribute to Documentation: Ensure relevant standards are referenced in Engineering Requirements Documents.
  6. Guide Teams: Use detailed knowledge of standards and industry best practices to guide Engineering and Testing teams towards standards compliance.
  7. Interact with Verification Entities: Work with third-party accredited laboratories to ensure accurate interpretation of standards clauses.
  8. Maintain Documentation Library: Develop and maintain a documentation library that defines the conformity assessment framework for target countries and products.
  9. Knowledge Sharing: Share knowledge with the team and the wider business through training and documentation.

Skills/Qualifications:

  1. Educational Background: Degree, Masters, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience in Compliance/Homologation testing of photovoltaic systems or power supplies.
  3. Standards Knowledge: Comprehensive working knowledge of standards relevant to business products, including Grid Connection, safety, EMC, radio, measurement, efficiency, RoHS, etc.
  4. National Electric Code: Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and ability to work with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) is a bonus.
