- Understands New Zealand payroll laws & compliance – You apply knowledge to new scenarios.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Payroll Accountant, you will:
- Process payroll transactions – Including timesheets, leave entitlements, and salary calculations.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation – Staying up to date with New Zealand payroll laws.
- Manage payroll data and reporting – Preparing reports for clients and internal use.
- Assist with salary sacrifice processes – Supporting clients with payroll-related queries.
- Maintain data integrity – Conducting basic payroll audits for accuracy and compliance.
- Work with HR teams – Processing hires, terminations, and employee changes.
- Support clients with payroll systems – Helping them navigate payroll platforms and processes.

- Payrolls are submitted on time with a high level of accuracy.
- Adjustments and client updates are processed accurately and promptly.
- Clients feel supported and confident in their payroll processes.
- Payroll processes are continuously improved for efficiency and accuracy.

To be eligible for the role your application must include both a resume and cover letter and you must have 1-2 years direct payroll experience. A Business, Commerce, Accounting or Payroll qualification is advantageous but not required, as is experience processing Australian payrolls.
This role is a .5FTE role (days and hours negotiable).
The salary for this role will be $74,000 – $80,000 pa (plus super) pro-rata depending on experience.
