The Assistant Accountant will report to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for a range of essential accounting processes including:

  • Accounts payable.
  • Accounts receivable.
  • Assisting with weekly payroll and payroll journal. (Payroll is outsourced).
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  • Creditor Reconciliations.
  • Assisting with Fixed Assets register.
  • Assist the Financial Controller with completion of the month end process and other finance related tasks.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 5+ years' experience in accounts/finance roles with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, reconciliations, and month-end processing.
  • A tertiary qualification majoring in business, accounting, administration, or similar is advantageous.
  • Strong reconciliation skills including experience in reconciling supplier and bank accounts.
  • Fastidious attention to detail with a consistently high standard of accuracy, and follow-up on tasks through to completion.
  • Demonstrated experience in working collaboratively and managing a wide range of relationships including vendors and customers.
  • A proven history of flexibility and willingness to help with a variety of tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • IT systems know-how, with Intermediate to Advanced skills in 365 Office Suite and Excel, and easily able to learn accounting systems and software.
  • Previous experience in hotel accounting processes, whilst this is ideal, it is not essential.
