Nurse Practitioner
Are you a Nurse Practitioner looking for a role where you feel valued, supported, and connected to a greater purpose? Nau mai, haere mai. We invite you to join us at Ora Toa, where your expertise isn't just recognised—it's truly respected.
We understand the pressures nurses face in private practice—long hours, heavy caseloads, and the feeling of constantly running on empty. Here, you'll find a workplace that puts your wellbeing first, offering not just a job, but a community that supports you both professionally and personally.
At Ora Toa, it's not just about healthcare—it's about people, connection, and community. As part of Ngāti Toa, we're grounded in cultural identity, committed to enhancing the mana, wellbeing, and prosperity of our iwi and the communities we serve. Our kaupapa Māori approach means care is holistic, focused on long-term wellbeing, not just quick fixes.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you'll be at the heart of patient care, but you won't be doing it alone. You'll work within a tight-knit, multidisciplinary team where collaboration is key, and where your clinical judgement is trusted and valued.
Your Role Will Include
- Assessing, diagnosing, and prescribing with autonomy and confidence
- Leading care for patients with complex health needs—without the pressure of rushed consultations
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge with the clinical team to support growth and development
- Referring and coordinating care as needed, with strong systems and support around you
- 5+ years' experience as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care
- NZ Nursing Registration with Nurse Practitioner scope
- A Master's degree (with prescribing component)
- Strong clinical skills, balanced with empathy and a people-first approach
- Cultural competency and a genuine commitment to equity in healthcare
We get it—nursing is demanding. That's why we've created an environment where your wellbeing matters just as much as the patients you care for.
Here's What You Can Expect
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible hours and realistic caseloads, so you're not constantly running on empty
- Supportive, Collaborative Team: You're not just a number—your part of a whānau that's got your back
- Time to Care: Space to build meaningful connections with patients, without the pressure of back-to-back appointments
- Professional Growth: Ongoing development opportunities, with support for both clinical and cultural learning
- Kaimahi-Centred Benefits: Wellbeing discounts, competitive salary, and a culture that prioritises your health too
