About The Role (Your Why)

The Cloud Platform Specialist is primarily responsible for the management of the Datacom Cloud with a relentless focus on continuous improvement of cloud operations and associated delivery leveraging agile methodologies. The role will deliver a professional technical engineer with responsibilities across a broad range of technologies. They maintain knowledge of the technologies deployed as well as up to date professional certifications to ensure the delivery of an exceptional service.

Please note that this role is being offered as a 12-month fixed term employment only.

What You'll Do

As the Cloud Platform Specialist you will be focused on:

1. The support of the various technologies that are deployed to deliver the Datacom Cloud. These technologies cover compute, storage, data protection, networking and automation.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders across Datacom to produce a single cloud vision and value proposition.
3. Demonstrating proactive ownership of identified issues as well as effective communication for suggested resolution efforts.
4. Proactive engagement with customers to ensure their requirements are continually being met with positive outcomes.
5. Compliance with all Datacom Cloud Operational and Information Security Management policies, procedures and processes to ensure an exceptional level of quality.
6. Maintaining awareness and knowledge of current market and industry developments and providing suitable interpretation to Management and relevant staff within the organisation.
7. Proactive support and management of the Datacom Cloud platform devices and applications.

What You'll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

1. Working knowledge or ability to rapidly gain a working understanding of the various technologies underpinning the Datacom Private Cloud.
2. Experience with automation languages - predominantly PowerShell and/or Python.
3. Experience with automation practices and tools for secure storing of code - for example, Git, GitLab, GitHub, HashiCorp Vault or similar.
4. Experience with automation platforms - for example GitLab, Ansible, Terraform or similar.
5. Experience interacting with APIs from different vendors.

Experience advantageous to the role:

1. Working in a multi-tenanted cloud environment.
2. Windows and Linux system administration.
3. Previous management of infrastructure such as networks, servers, storage, and virtualisation products.
