Mō te tūnga |About the role:

Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer, this exciting and diverse role will see you responsible for providing advice and leadership across the procurement and contract function to Parliamentary Service and Office of the Clerk. This includes establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key internal and supplier stakeholders, overseeing right-sized procurement processes, contract governance advice, contract variations, and spend analysis. You will play a key role in upskilling budget and contract managers on best practice procurement and contract management. You will be managing a close-knit team which includes a Senior Procurement Specialist, a Senior Legal Advisor, and a Finance Co-ordinator.

  • Demonstrated experience leading government procurement and contract management activities.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and coach.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal frameworks, contractual obligations, and procurement legislation.
  • Solid experience in negotiation, a knowledge of contract development and implementation.
  • A flexible, results-driven and collaborative approach coupled with a solution-focused mindset.
