We are looking for a part-time support worker in Gisborne for around 5 hours a week on a set roster that will increase over time. We have two rosters available: one for Saturday 10am-11.30 and Sunday 2.30pm-4.30pm, and the other is Tuesday 2.30pm-5.30pm and Saturday 10am-1pm and Sunday 11am-2pm.
What does a Support Worker do?You will support people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies, or shopping - the list is endless

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience working with youth.
- Full driver's license and owning your own vehicle is essential.
- A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes.
- Somebody who has the initiative to push people for their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others' thinking, and their way of living life that may be different from your own.
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
