We are delighted to be partnering with BMC Lawyers, a well-established and recognized firm in the greater Wellington region, as we undertake a search for a Graduate to join their General Practice team.

BMC Lawyers is a community-focused and full-service law firm with offices in Kapiti and Porirua. With well-established roots in the Wellington region, they have an excellent reputation in the local market as well as a loyal client base. They have ambitious future goals and are now seeking to increase their legal capabilities by increasing headcount in the short-term with longer term goals of opening an additional office in the region.

They are looking for someone that also prides themselves on building strong relationships, getting involved with the greater community and making a difference. Excellent career development will be on offer for the right person and our client is committed to retaining their staff for the long term.

The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has now come available for a General Practice Graduate who is looking to progress their career in a very busy practice. The role will allow you to work alongside the Managing Principal, who enjoyed a hugely successful business career before transitioning their commercial nous across to the legal sphere.

This is an exciting and varied role that will give you the opportunity to navigate a wide spectrum of general practice matters including business purchases, lease negotiations, trust & estate work, civil disputes plus more

This is very much a community-focused role where you will be seen as one of the faces of the firm within the local area. So being a natural people-person who is passionate about the region will see you succeed in this role.

About You

This role will suit a Law graduate who is either about to commence their Profs, is studying for them, or has recently finished. You will have excellent support and mentorship from the Managing Principal which will allow you to further develop your legal skills.

You will enjoy having autonomy and responsibility for your work, have excellent oral and written communication skills, be able to demonstrate the personality to work in a cohesive team and to build strong relationships with the community, your colleagues and clients.
