Quantity Surveyor/ Estimator

Our client is a well-established leader in the delivery of high-quality multi-unit residential projects. With a strong pipeline of work and a commitment to excellence, we are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their growing team.
Reporting to the Lead Estimator, this role offers the opportunity to work on significant residential developments, contributing expertise in cost estimation, value engineering, and procurement.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct tender assessments to identify key requirements and opportunities.
- Source and review subcontractor bids.
- Complete detailed take-offs for carpentry labour and materials.
- Prepare full estimates and tender presentations.
- Provide value engineering input to develop cost-effective solutions.
- Manage purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in the New Zealand construction industry.
- Proven expertise in estimating multi-unit housing, civil site works, and tenders exceeding $10 million.
- Strong financial literacy with the ability to interpret plans, quotes, and contracts with precision.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- A thorough understanding of New Zealand construction systems, particularly NZS3604.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Experience with Cat Projects or Cost-X is advantageous but not essential.
