Who we are:

The Greenfield team of our Investment arm is a bespoke team - developing and accelerating greenfield investment projects (e.g. new manufacturing, processing or technology facilities) in New Zealand by advising, managing and upskilling stakeholders to build their investment propositions to attract domestic or global capital. This is an exciting time to join the Greenfields team; we are on a growth journey, partnering with companies to deliver strategic high impact opportunities for New Zealand.

It's an exciting time to join the Investment team at NZTE as we prepare for the transition to a new agency, Invest NZ Our Greenfields team is seeking a highly capable, flexible and motivated individual to manage an exciting renewable energy portfolio.

What you will be doing:

You'll be a commercially focused professional with strong knowledge and experience in the renewable energy sector. You'll have deep knowledge in renewable energy generation across hydro, wind, solar, and geothermal, as well as opportunities to utilise the energy offtake e.g. industrial use, green datacentres, green metals, green fuels/food, etc.

In this diverse role, you will originate, develop, and execute investment propositions that capitalise on New Zealand's sustainable competitive advantage. You will be working across the entire life cycle of an investment project, from developing investment propositions at the concept stage to executing on individual projects. As such, advice will range from high level value proposition and market evaluation through to financial management, business models, operational mechanics, and governance for specific opportunities; all to create high-quality investment propositions and attract investors.

What you will need to be successful:

The ideal candidate possesses deep sector knowledge, ideally combined with an investment or corporate finance background and strong project management skills. This role will connect you across the domestic and global capital raising ecosystem and offers strong career potential to develop wider management capacity either within NZ or offshore.

This role will suit someone with a strong business and personal affinity for New Zealand. Key skills we are looking for are:

1. Sector knowledge in renewable energy
2. Deal execution, origination, or investor relations background
3. Ability to manage stakeholder relationships
4. Strategic project deal analysis / financial skills
5. Flexibility in thinking and strategic mindset

What's next:
