Tēnei tūranga - About the Role:The Immigration Compliance and Investigations branch have a vacancy in the investigation team based in Auckland.
We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate Senior Investigator who is eager to take the next step in their career and be part of a dynamic, hardworking team in a fast-paced environment.
We offer the successful candidate the chance to be part of a new era in Immigration with a focus on regulatory expertise in an intelligence informed environment.
The team sits within Te Whakatairanga Service Delivery for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and are tasked with preventing and responding to immigration related offending and non-compliance.

Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required* Experience in leading, planning and / or undertaking complex criminal investigations and prosecutions, including fraud, in a team environment
* Ability to support vulnerable complainants through the investigation and prosecution process
* Excellent communication skills, ability to manage risk and maintain confidentiality with sensitive issues
* Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and supervise in a team environment
* Sound understanding and application of NZ legislation in investigation and prosecution processes e.g. Criminal Procedures Act, Rules of Evidence, Bill of Rights, Official Information & Privacy Acts and Crimes Act etc.
* Demonstrated planning and organising skills including the ability to maintain a high level of performance when under pressure
* A demonstrated knowledge and application of modern investigation techniques including the use of IT software e.g. computer forensics
* Proven ability to develop trust and credibility with managers and fellow staff
* Tertiary qualification, preferably in law enforcement, and/or comparable relevant experience in investigation and prosecution related work
* The ability to gain and maintain a national security clearance as required
