We are seeking an experienced Senior Compliance Analyst (Health and Safety) to join Te Papa Atawhai DOC's Regulatory Authorisations Team. Reporting to the Director, Regulatory Authorisations, you will be at the forefront of shaping and maintaining compliance activity related to Health & Safety, driving improvements through data analysis, and developing innovative reporting solutions. Your work will inform wider improvements to our overall compliance monitoring functions.
The position will be focused on:
- Conducting gap analysis, documenting existing H&S compliance data, and developing reporting dashboards to track concessionaire compliance, starting with H&S.
- Analysing data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with the tech team to integrate reporting solutions and business rules with the new permissions database.
- Creating and implementing process maps, supporting new process integration, and ensuring seamless functionality through user testing and training.
- Contributing to national planning for H&S compliance, providing analysis and insights to support decision-making and policy development.
- Coaching and developing team members while fostering a strong safety culture at DOC.
We're looking for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong analytical and reporting skills. The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, Process Design, or a related field.
- Hands-on experience in technology improvement projects or software integration.
- A solid understanding of legislation, policies, and processes related to permissions and health and safety compliance.
- Proven experience in designing processes and developing data and reporting solutions.
- Strong experience in data analysis and the ability to provide actionable recommendations.
- A demonstrated ability to work with contracts, permits, and other legal documents, and confidently communicate technical information to stakeholders.
- Experience in coaching and motivating team members to achieve collective goals.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety compliance frameworks (desired).

The Regulatory Authorisations Team sits within the Policy and Regulatory Services Group which provides strategic direction and thought leadership for DOC and for the conservation regulatory system. This directorate is responsible for ensuring an end-to-end regulatory system that delivers good conservation outcomes, provides strong stewardship of DOC's regulatory functions and provides trusted and high quality regulatory delivery.
