Haere Mai - In search of chefs, housekeepers, and all-rounders for the ultimate hosting adventure
Imagine waking up in the heart of Te Rua O Te Moko / Fiordland National Park, surrounded by towering peaks, ancient rainforest, and pristine waters. How about taking a breathtaking helicopter flight through Piopiotahi (Milford Sound), a jet boat ride or a hike along the ancient pounamu trails that the Hollyford Track follows at the beginning or end of your scheduled work rotation? If you're passionate about manaakitanga (hosting), love the outdoors, have hospitality experience and high standards then this may be your dream job
We're searching for enthusiastic Lodge Hosts (could be partners, friends or individuals) to work in an intimate hosting team to welcome, wine and dine our manuhiri (guests) at our newly renovated private luxury lodges. Ka Tuku Lodge is nestled among the native forest at the confluence of the Hollyford and Pyke Rivers and is a happy sight for guests after a long day out exploring. Waitai Lodge perches by the coast at Martins Bay and is a great launching pad for guests' adventures or a relaxing soak in our wood-fired hot tubs—an experience like no other
As a hosting team, you'll be responsible for providing a high-end memorable lodge experience.
- Chefs will provide delicious kai (food) - breakfast, lunch and immaculately plated three-course meal featuring delicacies such as venison and blue cod. With your ability to bring meals to life, you'll ensure that every dish is a culinary delight (including catering for dietary requirements).
- Housekeeping will ensure private rooms, ensuites and all lodge areas are presented in a pristine manner.
- All Lodge Hosts will provide world-class manaakitanga (hospitality) and share the richness of Ngāi Tahu culture and values with our manuhiri.
This is a hands-on role suited to all-rounders with a "can-do" attitude who thrive in a small, dynamic team. If you've had experience in a high-end hospitality venture, this could be the perfect fit. High standards, self-management, and full engagement in the role are key. This is a busy and all-encompassing role, requiring adaptability, problem-solving skills, and strong communication and administrative abilities.
If you're enthusiastic about creating unforgettable experiences in a stunning wilderness setting, then read on…
