Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Plunket Full time
Community Services Coordinator - East Auckland

The world is fast changing, and the needs of whānau raising tamariki have changed dramatically in recent years. Our community services provide supplementary support to our clinical teams to support holistic whānau wellness, provide helpful services and support stronger community bonds.

We're seeking a dynamic Community Services Coordinator to join our team in East Auckland/Botany on a part-time (15 hours per week) permanent basis. The days and hours of work can be negotiated.

Our Community Services Coordinators ensure our community-based initiatives such as our parenting groups and programmes run smoothly, and our volunteers are well supported. There is a strong focus on collaborating with local organisations and groups to ensure we can deliver to the needs of our communities - you will build connections to develop initiatives that promote healthy, confident whānau and pēpi.

To support these initiatives, you might support events and fundraising initiatives and work alongside other Plunket Teams. You will also manage the recruitment of volunteers and ensure our volunteers are prepared, informed and feel connected to our Kaupapa.

This role requires a degree of flexibility which could be the perfect match for your needs. Working across East Auckland and with volunteers means that the day-to-day needs will change, but the mahi also allows flexibility to work from home from time to time.

The pay rate for this role is $27.80 per hour.

To thrive in this role, you will be confident in engaging with local groups and be able to effectively build relationships with whānau. You will have had prior experience working in a role where you built positive relationships and were able to diagnose needs before working towards a solution.

This could mean that you are a parent who has a deep understanding of the needs of whānau in your community and you're looking to get into a role that allows you to deliver on this. We're open to a variety of backgrounds, as long as you bring the passion for advancing and promoting services which will make a genuine difference to whānau.

You will also need a full NZ Drivers Licence – although when you do travel for work, it will be during the work day and in one of our Plunket vehicles.

If you're seeking to work for an organisation that values improving society, join us at Whānau Āwhina Plunket. Inline with our values, we believe in caring for our people, to support your wellbeing and ongoing professional growth.

  • Various wellbeing schemes such as a Wellbeing day: use one of your sick leave days to proactively support your wellbeing
  • Retail discounts
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Programs to build your cultural competence so you can contribute to our goals most effectively
  • Fitness passport – discounted membership options at local fitness facilities
