Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora invites applications for a Clinical Haematologist to join our collaborative team at Dunedin Hospital. As a Clinical Haematologist at Dunedin Hospital, you will play a central role in delivering high-quality care to a geographically diverse population across Otago and Southland. This includes:
- Inpatient and Outpatient Care: Managing a broad spectrum of malignant and non-malignant haematological conditions.
- After-Hours Laboratory Work: Providing essential laboratory expertise as part of an after-hours roster.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Participating in meetings with the Christchurch Transplant Team and local multi-disciplinary meetings.
- Bleeding Centre: Supporting care and management for bleeding disorders within our dedicated centre.
- Outreach Clinics: Conducting regular outreach clinics in Invercargill and supporting patients across the wider Southern region.
- Teaching and Mentorship:
- Working with 5th-year and pre-intern medical students from the University of Otago.
- Mentoring Basic and Advanced trainees, as well as house officers.
- Research and Quality Improvement:
- Contributing to an active trials division and the department's quality and safety program.
- Opportunities for leadership within the department and the wider hospital setting.

About YouWe are looking for someone with a strong background in clinical and laboratory haematology. Whether your expertise lies in malignant or non-malignant haematology, we welcome applicants with subspecialty experience and a passion for research in this field.
To Join Us, You'll Need- A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with advanced training in Clinical and Laboratory Haematology.
- Eligibility for vocational or Locum Tenens registration in Internal Medicine and Pathology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
We also encourage applications from those who are about to complete or have recently completed their haematology fellowship.

Salary rangeThis role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 per annum pro rata).
